Mammoth Mountain Ski Region will obtain Snow Summit and Bear Mountain in Southern California’s Large Bear Lake for an undisclosed cost.
Mammoth, which also owns nearby June Mountain, will sell its season ski pass for $ 689. That pass offers skiers unrestricted access to all four mountains.
With the acquisition, Mammoth corners the market place on ski resorts most frequented by Southern Californians. Mammoth, which opened its first chairlift in 1955, receives about 1.three million winter visits a year, even though Snow Summit and Bear Mountain get about 800,000.
Mammoth is positioned in the Eastern Sierras, about 310 miles north of Los Angeles.
