American Airlines is planning to launch nonstop service among Dallas/Fort Worth and Beijing next year.

The carrier filed an application with the U.S. Division of Transportation to begin the route subsequent summer.

American will fly the route with Boeing 777-200ER aircraft and is retrofitting them to include lie-flat enterprise-class seats.

American has ten nonstop routes among the U.S. and Asia, including routes among DFW and Hong Kong, Seoul and Shanghai.
